How did Waanda gain her expertise?

Waanda has gained her thorough understanding of energy, resources, planning, water and natural resources from working at Department of Natural Resources and Mines and the Department of Environment and Science.

Her fine-tuned advocacy skills, or court work, comes from her years of working solely in litigation as a barrister at the beginning of her legal career.  Waanda was also chosen to be a highly-esteemed Associate to the former Honourable Mary Gaudron in the High Court of Australia who was a Justice from 1987-2003.

She gained her expertise in Major Projects and Class Actions at a prominent national law firm in Melbourne.

Where can I find Waanda?

While Waanda calls Roma home, she splits her time equally between Hede Byrne & Hall’s Roma legal office and Toowoomba law offices.  She is friendly and eager to assist you with your legal issues.

Waanda’s qualifications and milestones

Waanda holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours at James Cook University and is a University Medalist.

In 1997 she was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia as a barrister.

As a member of the Queensland Law Society, Waanda holds a current practicing certificate in Queensland.

Due to her special interest and expertise in the area of Water and Agribusiness Law, Waanda is a member of the Queensland Law Society Water and Agribusiness Law Committee.
